🥋 Does Pop Mean Stop?

Plus: how to finish the smother submission like Meregali.

The Jiu Jitsu E-mail Newsletter

What up Flowrollers, it’s a great day to explain to your co-workers why you’re limping - and no, it’s not because of a ‘sports accident’, it’s because you’re a warrior.

Last week’s poll showed that you all are seriously itching for some action in the streets 🤣

Throwing down and working some of your techniques in a real life scenario always sounds like a blast… but realistically it’s just not worth it.

I find that people who are willing to get into fights just have less to lose. I have a family, a job, and a life. I can’t afford to get sued or put in the hospital from a knife wound. Basically totally agree with Flowroller Tim here:

Alright let’s get to it, slap-and-bump 👊🏻

THE MAIN EVENT 🚨

There was some interesting discussion over on Reddit about “should pop = stop.”

BlackieChan319 (🤣 ) had his opponent in a fully locked toehold when he hard a loud POP... but no tap. He quickly let go of the submission, at which point his opponent hopped into full mount and won the match on points.

Respect to the poster for keeping his opponent’s safety as a priority. What do you think?

Do you release submissions if you hear a pop?
