🥋 Rolling with the Opposite Gender
Plus: 6 easy sweeps for Gi and No-Gi.
The Jiu Jitsu E-mail Newsletter
What up Flowrollers, it’s a great day to run around on the mats taking close up photos any time your least favorite training partners get submitted.
You all were clear: the Jiu Jitsu belt system should stay.
I totally agree. Belts are an important milestone marker in everyones’ Jiu Jitsu journey… even if there is a ton of variance when you compare a blue belt from gym to gym.
One thing I miss when I train no-gi, is the ability to get a read on my opponents’ experience and skill level.
Andrew makes a great point that if you’re training to get a specific belt, you probably aren’t going to stick around anyways.
Alright let’s get to it, slap-and-bump 👊🏻
THE MAIN EVENT 🚨
There was some interesting discussion over on r/bjj this week on how to approach rolling with training partners of a different gender.
Specialist_Court_228’s girlfriend is unnerved that he’s training no-gi with women… to the point of where it’s affecting their intimacy.
In my opinion, sounds like he’s oversharing with his significant other. But I know some guys at my gym avoid rolling with women (and vice versa). What do you think?
