🥋 Zuck vs Musk

What up Flowrollers, it’s a great day to attempt to escape side control by harnessing the power of telekinesis 👓️

You guys were clear on our last poll, “pop means stop” in training 100%, but not in a tournament:

Seems totally reasonable to me. The only caveat I’d add is that even in a tournament, I would never apply a submission in a way that didn’t give my opponent a chance to tap. After all we’re paying good money to wrestle with grown men (or women) in our underwear… can’t take it too seriously 😆

I can also totally relate to Matthew’s take though:

I’ve been in training rounds where I have someone locked into a super deep kimura, with their arm halfway around their back and they aren’t tapping… it’s like “bro, I’m not going to break your arm - but the next guy might!” That can be frustrating for sure.

Alright let’s get to it, slap-and-bump 👊🏻

THE MAIN EVENT 🚨

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve seen the online feud between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

These mega billionaires are either trolling us all (a possibility for sure), or are actually interested in an MMA fight against each other:

So who’s the favorite? That’s a tough one. Normally I’d say Zuck is a lock because he’s actually committed to training. He did quite well in a Jiu Jitsu tournament, and has been training MMA with legit UFC champs:

But Elon seems to be taking the idea of a fight at least somewhat seriously as well:

From my internet sleuthing it looks like Zuck is about 5’7” and 160 pounds, while Elon is well over 6’ and for sure pushing 200+ pounds.

That’s just soooo much weight to give up in a fight, and despite his training it’s not like Mark Zuckerberg is some elite UFC prospect.

Let’s hear it, who takes this one…

TECHNIQUE CORNER 🧠

Check out these body lock passing tips from half guard. Random video with only 29 views from a Jiu Jitsu camp in Greece, but I really found these tips on clearing the knee useful! Definitely going to try to use my elbows in the way he was to flatten out the guard player’s knees.
